Summer Smoothies

At this time of year we love fresh local berries and fruit. Smoothies are a lovely way to enjoy fruit and also a great way to get kids to eat more fruit and veg. I quite often add a handful of spinach to a berry smoothie and the kids don’t but an eyelid!

Very Berry Smoothie

Serves 2
50g Strawberries
50g Blackberries
50g Raspberries
1 frozen ripe banana
orange juice or water

Apple Kiwi and Mint Smoothie

Serves 2
2 ripe kiwis, flesh scooped out
1 frozen ripe banana
1/2 cup of water
Handful of fresh mint leaves
Squeeze of lemon OR lime
Handful of spinach

Peaches and cream

Serves 2
2 ripe peaches with the stone removed
2 frozen ripe bananas
12 strawberries
1/2 cup of milk (Can use almond milk, but we prefer whole organic cows milk)

All of these smoothies are so easy to make and are a great way to start the day.

  1. Simply add all the ingredients (except the juice or water) into a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add juice or water or milk depending on the smoothy, to get the right consistency
  3. If you prefer a frosty smoothy add ice to the blender rather than juice or water.
